Catalytic converters create a substantial obstruction in the exhaust stream of nearly all modern production vehicles. Removing the "cat" on an off-road performance vehicle is a good way to create a freer flowing exhaust and increase horsepower. Unfortunately doing so usually prompts the engine control unit to illuminate a check engine light. SymTech Lab?s Intelligent O2 Sensor Simulator (iO2SS) can eliminate this annoying, and sometimes performance-robbing, light by generating a proper downstream oxygen sensor signal.
The latest version of our iO2SS is compatible with virtually every car that uses a downstream narrowband zirconia oxygen sensor. It can independently create a signal, or it can alter the oxygen sensor's signal in realtime. The former is helpful when you want to remove the oxygen sensor altogether, and the latter is useful if your car relies on the downstream oxygen sensor to calibrate the upstream sensor. The output signal is user-configurable and the unit is fully protected against reverse battery connections and overvoltage conditions.
This model features a single signal output, please click here for the dual output version.
We can also pre-wire the simulator for simple plug-and-play installation at no additional charge. You must send us the original O2 sensor for the plug-and-play configuration. Please contact our sales team before ordering for details about this service.
